Blog Labels

For all of you who are using labels when posting to your blogs: Be sure to add the gadget to your page. This will display a list of all the labels you have entered and allows everything under each category to be accessible simply by clicking the links that the gadget creates. Here is how to do it:
-After logging in, in the right top corner of your screen click customize,
-Click "add a gadget" from the list of page elements displayed(it will be at the top),
-scroll down until you get to the gadget that says "labels" and click the [+] button.
From here it is self explanatory. Then when you view your blog, this feature will appear with your profile, and archives. You will only have to do this once, and any subsequent label you employ will automatically be added to this list.

Everyone must have final projects [leaf + twigs], along with process, precedents, and other assignments posted by october 3. We will [p]review this work the following week. Taking time and care to place the best images of your final work is beneficial for everyone. If you have concerns or encounter problems please resolve these issues prior to the end of this week.

Some Helpful Tips

These are some things which will help correct some problems I have noticed everyone having concerning sketching and such. Try to integrate these ideas into your personal style, it will make a profound difference. The diagram says most of it, but in addition, try to remember that drawing takes time. A good drawing does not happen fast, but requires much time and deliberation. Most people are better than they think, they just have not taken the time to slow down and really focus on each part of the process. IAR 101 critiques "get twiggy with it"

We want to see the best work showcased at this critique. Please keep these things in mind for 9.24:

-arrive early to set up
-professional attire
-precedent studies
-12x12 graphic display  

-design intent/ideas/concept
-cohesive presentation display

-8 minute group presentation/feedback

Please keep in mind the salient points of the project and be prepared to display these items in a mindful manner. Remember the key points discussed in class about presentation and how items are showcased cohesively, both physically and visually. When telling the project's story bring prototypes/sketch models that represent best attempts, not all of your attempts.

New Assignments List

The list of assignments that will be checked on your blogs is now on the right of this page just above your individual blog links. Again check back regularly to ensure you are up to date on everything. Also don't feel limited by what is on this list. Take ownership of your blog and add things you think will be important to show your progress as an iarc student. Your blog is an ideal space to showcase all the work you do, use it to your advantage any way you can!
